Shhhh.

I don’t want to jinx it. After a couple of weeks of unsuccessfully trying to wean myself from the Aciphex, my doctor told me to go off it completely for a week to see if it was actually doing anything. It’s been five days and I feel better than I did when I was on it, belly and all. At worst I’ve had some plain old indigestion, which I’ve been able to kick with Maalox, and if I keep my portion sizes good and small, I feel… fine.

I don’t know if it’s the acupuncture (first appointment last week, another tomorrow), the Bikram, the papaya extract, the conversations with my guts, the visualizations, the reiki, the change in portion sizes or what, but apparently putting to use every possible option has made a difference. I’m not 100% cured, but I feel better than I have in months.

Honestly, though, if it turns out that the answer to all of this is to get a good, sweaty workout everyday and not be such a glutton, I am going to feel a little foolish.
