I’m posting my version of the treat that both of of them made often: wonderful little blackbottom cupcakes. Think of those big chocolate cream cheese monstrosities from Starbucks, but bite-sized, and way less catastrophic. And homemade!
Now that Evey has passed, and my grandmother has been gone for years, these little cupcakes are a nice tie back to the past. I miss my grandmother, and now I miss Evelyn. As usual, my response to major life events, especially the sad ones, is to bake, bake, bake. Today, I was baking from my grandmother’s old recipe box.
Behold: Mom-Mom’s (and Aunt Evey’s) Mini Blackbottom Cupcakes.
