I entered 250 words of word-porn in a little contest on Alison Tyler’s blog, and I want to win. The rules were: 250 words, smut, must include the word “plaid.” Voting is open, so go do it. Go vote for me! My story is the third one, about the plaid tent.* (The site is moderately SFW – dirty words abound, but no particularly incriminating pictures.) Votes from ‘puters and iPhones and the like are welcome!
It is not so much that I want to win the skirt (although that wouldn’t be so bad – I could use it as a belt in public), it is that I want to win. I like winning. There were better submissions than mine, but I think everyone should vote for mine anyway, unless you are my mom, and in that case you should skip it entirely and pretend you never read this post.
But if you’re not my mom, vote early, vote often. I can’t promise anything in return. After all, it would be immoral to try to throw an erection, er, election. And for those of you who don’t regularly read this kind of stuff – you are forewarned, it’s word porn.
*I have come to understand on a more visceral level why writers of certain genres have pen names.** There is the security aspect, certainly, but also this is a little embarrassing. I still want to win, though.
** I wonder if one day I could have two separate writing careers going, under two different names. That would be fun. And confusing. I don’t think I can handle another blog.

Which reminds me – I need to get back to surfing more web pages that are in violation of the internet usage policy. Though I think “pornography” is winning, “weapons” and “occult” are close behind. I like to think that someone, someday will actually print out a report of the violations stats – and that I’ll be on top in every category.
