Yesterday I had a long lunch with a new friend, and drove home all giddy because I knew I would arrive to an old friend sitting on my couch. Today, a beautiful day, a solid morning yoga practice and I am feeling thoroughly charmed.
There have been a few times in my life like this summer, when my social life becomes a life of its own, when everything I need appears all at once, and I’m just along for the ride. All I can do is hang on and enjoy the dizziness and the craziness while it lasts. So far this summer I’ve laughed more, celebrated more, and connected to more people than I have since college, only this time around I’m more confident, freer, happier, better looking, and doing it all while wearing fabulous shoes.
It’s exciting. Really freaking unbelievably don’t-want-to-go-to-sleep and can’t-wait-to-wake-up exciting. Thank you, thank you, thank you, all of you who are on this ride with me, for showing up exactly when I needed you.
