Days of Future Passed
Last night I was noodling around google analytics, and the date heading caught my attention.
January 14, 2010
For just an instant, I was surprised. It looked like a date that should be in the future.
So far, 2010 is proving to be a bit surreal.
P-Power
Recently, I bought two pairs of tights from Target, both of which ripped at the crotch the first time I wore them. I am alarmed. Either Target needs better quality control, or something down there is trying to bust out when I am not paying attention. Is it the Incredible Hooch*? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. [...]
Stranger
Apparently, it’s odd interactions with strangers day here in the Land of Lauren.
Outside a store, a woman in a wheelchair looked up at me and said, “It’s soap.”
Later, this conversation happened in a parking lot:
Woman with cart: What does your shirt say?
Me: Hilton Head Island.
Woman with cart: Where is that?
Me: South Carolina.
Woman with cart: Oh. [...]
Fun with Google Analytics
Following are all of the keywords that have led people to my blog since I set up google analytics over the summer. I could bring on the quips, but I think the list stands on its own as a work of… something.
1. lauren flax
2. green and yellow shoes
3. “lauren flax”
4. “people born in 1988″
5. [...]

Ring, purpose. Pinky, special. The middle finger is just there in the middle, like a passed-over middle child, and it’s pissed. Perhaps [...]

Transcript, brain activity at 3:42 am.
Rightbrain: Thongs!
Leftbrain: Mwwwrfh.
Rightbrain: Thongs!
Leftbrain: Huh?
Rightbrain: Thongs! Thongs! Thongs!
Leftbrain: You did not just wake us up at 3:42 in the morning to think about thongs.
Rightbrain: Thongs! Besides, I did us a favor. The alarm didn’t go off.
Leftbrain: Alarm is set for 5:42. FIVE.
Rightbrain: So what’s [...]
The Past I
Most of the following pics are from my journals late in high school and early in college, and some stuff is undated but probably from around that time. I don’t know that anyone else will be entertained by these, but I have certainly enjoyed going through them.
Ow.
I love teaching yoga. It is amazing that a part of my livelihood involves cultivating peace, happiness, love, and health, and even gives a wicked buzz. It is equally amazing to contemplate that this part of my livelihood involves physical coordination as I sit here with a giant red welt on my chin, which I [...]
Travels III: Walking
The walk this morning was punctuated by the sounds of roosters crowing, dogs barking, and planes flying overhead.
